This packaging for nuts & bolts, screws, and nails adheres to the familiar industrial feel and readability of traditional hardware packaging but with a modern and fun twist. This poster focuses on one of the seven deadly sins, Pride. I chose to focus on a lion because it is used as the personification of pride in the Book of Hours, a medieval illuminated manuscript from the 14th century. Within the book, Pride rides on a lion while admiring himself in a mirror. I illustrated the lion to appear as though he is looking down on the viewer, then brought it into Photoshop to experiment with different brushes and overlays.
