Kuta tea
Kuta tea started in the Sodo neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The marketplace is flooded with tea companies, making it difficult to stand out. The concept behind Kuta is to showcase quality ingredients in a playful way. This inspired a lifestyle and storytelling approach in Kuta's branding.
I chose the fonts Quaver Sans and Caslon for branding. The logo was set in Quaver Sans, with a modified "K". Quaver Sans has nice full-circle curves on many characters that made it a great font to pair with Caslon.
To extend the brand and help tell the story of Kuta tea, I illustrated storyboards and art directed lifestyle photography for Kuta's website.
At Seattle Central College, it’s difficult to order breakfast to-go and have it ready upon arrival. The goal of this project was to solve the UX problem of ordering in advance while finding a way to move hundreds of people through a small space in a timely fashion. The solution was to design a logical ordering system and give the customer a unique identifier for efficient pickup.
Sojourn Magazine
Sojourn means "a temporary stay". Over the years, I’ve come to realize being outside is not about the place but about the people. Sojourn is a backpacking magazine with a strong emphasis on storytelling and sharing. Inside this issue, you'll find articles focused on backpacking throughout the Pacific Northwest, as well as some fun things you can make yourself. Each story will carry you to the next and inspire you to get out there and share the experience.
