Helio
Helio is a modular garden box system with a solar powered sensor that tracks moisture, temperature, light and soil nutrition. The system syncs with a mobile app for user control and monitoring.
For this project, we sought out to solve a problem that presents itself to urban dwellers. Most are too busy to maintain a garden and urban living environments generally don’t have enough space for a garden. There is currently no single product that solves this problem.
We solved the problem by creating a modular system designed for smaller spaces with the capability of expanding. The system is self sufficient: running either automatically or manually.
Genki Sushi is a chain of express service conveyor belt sushi restaurants with locations in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait, and the United States.
We created a new brand identity with the following brand promise in mind: "We [Genki] are innovative, exciting and approachable; crafting a unique sushi experience in a fun and inviting atmosphere." Our concept uses bright and colorful graphics to make Genki approachable and fun. The origami-inspired logo and graphics reflect innovation as well as tradition, while the modern typography attracts a young and hip clientele.
The goal for this project was to design a poster to represent a famous Shakespeare quote to be sold on Etsy.
My solution was to create a modern and lively pattern that could be used in a quilt, featuring the quote integrated into the pattern.
The concept behind this design is to show strength via the integrity of many threads. I interpreted this quote on a community level. Quilts are often used to celebrate community. As well, quilts historically have often been made for family members and/or others that are greatly loved and cared for. In patterns featured on quilts, some design elements are more impressive than others, however every element is an integral part of the design as a whole.
